:: crochet chevron cushion |

I also made my very first banana bread for my mothers group today... recipe from here! I change it slightly because of my lactose allergy - exchanging milk for soy milk and butter for dairy free margarine. I seriously can't believe I have never made one before... it was so yummy and everyone loved it! I was a bit worried making something for the first time but luckily it worked out beautifully....phew!! :)
:: my little helper and taster |
:: he just can't wait until everyone gets here... yum! |
I am also joining in on onegirl - handprinted: a fabric swap! This is so up my ally... woo hoo!! You only have until tomorrow - Friday 21st October 2011- to join up if you are interested :)
Day 20 of blogtoberfest 2011 - blog everyday for October
Hope you are having a great creative week!
There are loads more creative people over at our creative spaces...
Can't wait to see what you come up with for the swap! That looks like a lot of fun. I was dairy free for about a year with my first nursling, egg free for a bit with my third, and gluten free for life now because of my own celiac. You do find ways to adjust! Although I never did like soy milk...!
ReplyDeleteWow - the cushion is gorgeous! How did you back it? Is it more ripples or did you sew the ripples to something else to back it?
ReplyDeleteThe cover looks great, guess this means you can cross it off on your 'to do' list now :)
ReplyDeleteI bet that banana bread smelled great - no wonder your little kitchen helper has a look of such excited anticipation!
Very stylish cushion cover - surely your Mr can't object to that ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone xxx
ReplyDeleteKatie - I actually decided to have a fabric back with buttons down the middle.. I didn't want to go to crazy with the crochet :)
Loving your cushion...fantastic job.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the price of bananas to plummet so we can indulge in more banana bread and cake :)

Great cushion! I used to have a crochet cushion that eventually got so stretched out that I tossed it. Now looking at yours I think maybe I need a new one. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing the cushion - it looks fabulous! I absolutely love the CHEVRON pattern and have been wanting a black and white chevron rug forever! Maybe I'll compromise and do a pillow instead :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you design for the fabric swap - what a great idea!!
Jenn

Totally Gorgeous cushion and bread too ... I substitute soy all the time, makes not a skerrick of difference. Have a great week :)
ReplyDeleteThe cushion is gorgeous! I wish I could crochet like that - I've learned to crochet granny squares, but haven't progressed beyond that yet.
