inspiration: papercuts by Nia May

We live two minutes away from Summer Hill in the inner west of Sydney, it's such a great little village with some lovely cafes and shops! One of my favourite's is Sweets Workshop which is a gorgeous little art gallery that also sells beautiful prints, gift ware, zines and all sorts of fab things! I always wish I had lots of money every time I venture in there! I popped in there on the weekend to check out Nia May's little exhibition! Wow.. her work is just so beautiful, a little quirky and SO inspiring, especially as I love cutting stencils for screen printing myself! I really admire people who can papercut so beautifully!  It just makes me want to get out the craft knife and get cutting some stencils :)

  2. I'll have to pop in and have a look. I love her work though I must admit that I get very frustrated whenever I try to cut a fine pattern out of paper, she must have massive amounts of patience!

  3. What beautiful work. I so admire papercutting, and I really enjoyed the couple times I tried it. It's a different way of thinking artistically, the planning and thought that goes into those designs.
