Knitting: big wool and big needles

I've had a very big itch that needed to be scratched... I tried to ignore it with all my might but it just wouldn't go away...   big wool and big needles!! I saw these gorgeous chunky scarves on the Harvest Textiles web site (yellow and green ones on the table in the first picture), and haven't stopped thinking/obsessing over them! I told myself "You already have enough projects on your plate... knitting.. crochet...etc!!!" I ignored myself and gave into the big itch! :)

So now I'm knitting another scarf! It's lots of fun and I feel like a little girl with such big wool and needles... and the best thing of all is that it doesn't take long get quite a lot done! Love it!

  1. I had a dream last night that I knit a Jo Sharp blanket. That's so far from reality I can tell you. Love her designs though. Good luck with the scarf. Knitting with big needles is very satisfying I find.

  3. That colour looks really lovely!

I am thinking that I might just have to get some big needles and thick wool myself...

  5. This looks so much fun! I'm curious of what sort of yarn you usually use for these kinds of projects? My scarfs always end up scratchy...

  8. Oooh I love it. I can't knit to save myself, but I just got my mum to knit me a cowl in moss stitch - not on massive needles but it's lovely and chunky!

  9. Ah, my heart. I wish I knew how to knit. I'd be spending this entire winter on my couch, cup of tea in hand, making scarves + mittens. (oh right, i have a day job)

Yours looks fab - I love the color!

  10. Oooh that Harvest Workroom looks wonderful. Ah man, I wish I had a space like that (on a smaller scale of course) to work in....Melbourne really is the creative capital of Oz. Thanks for pointing it out Lamina. And gorgeous scarf... it's going to be beautiful!
