my creative space: ginger cats tote

It's been very busy around here with my Etsy shop opening on Monday! Phew! I have loved packaging things up and sending them off into the world... such great satisfaction and a bit exciting too! I have to get to and restock my shop now!

In amongst all the craziness this week, I made a tote using my ginger cats screen print and I did french seams on the inside too! I think I am in love with french seams... they are so lovely!

Good morning, hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I can finally announce that I am now the proud owner of a little etsy shop **do a bit**... Hooray!!! So now you know why I have been making a crazy amount of pouches :)

It has taken me a little while to get it all together... who knew that there is quite a bit of work involved in setting up an etsy shop! I still have a bit of work to do on it but I am so happy that my shop is finally open!

my creative space: hand printed cushion

Tomorrow is my gorgeous grandma's birthday and I was a bit stuck with what to get her, especially as she has everything she needs! What could me and my little man make for her (his great grandma)??? Then it came to me... a hand printed cushion... literally... with my little man's handprints!

I had a very definate idea in my head about how it was going to look but I didn't factor in, an experimental 3.5 yr old with paint and a devilish grin! Of course I let him go for it... we had lots of fun and got very messy :) I also screen printed a little heart and his name in the corner too.  We made a cute little hand heart card - using a tracing of my little mans hand -  inspiration from here. I just love this idea!

I am so happy with grandma's present... she's going to love it! :)

my creative space: tote bag

I received this gorgeous fat quarter from Diana from www.bimba.hu (Budapest Hungary) as part of the handprinted: a fabric swap II! Love her work!

I love the design so much and I couldn't wait to make something out of it! I really needed a bag to carry around all of my little man's bits and bobs... you know... water bottle, wipes, cars, sticks, dinosaurs etc. So I decided to retire the old nappy bag and make a new tote bag.

I am so happy with it and it's so much better than lugging around a big nappy bag!

my creative space: cushions

You may have noticed/or not, that over on the side bar under "a few things to do" that I haven't done anything about making the shibori cushion... for a very long time... yep I can hear the sound of crickets too! Well, I finally got my A into G and made it... hooray :) I used the fabric I made from the Shibori workshop  that I went to in March.  I'm so happy with how it turned out... LOVE it!

I was on a roll, so I also made a "grey cats ginger" cushion too! One side is mainly grey cats and the others side is mainly ginger cats. It's so bright and happy! My little man loves this one!

I forgot how easy making cushions was and how gratifying! It's so nice to have some new cushions for the couch... admittedly they don't quite go together but that's ok... we have two couches :)
