:: my happy little taste tester :) |
I made a small batch of rice crispies and marshmallow bars the other day. I don't have much of a sweet tooth but I nearly died of shock at how unbelievably sweet they were...Yikes!! I'm not sure I can put that on the party table, everyone may need to book an appointment with the dentist straight after the party! So, I have been looking for healthy alternatives. I will have a few yummy sugary things, after all it is a birthday party, but I would also love to have lots of healthy party food too!
So I was wondering what are your favourite, easy to make, healthy and yummy party foods recipes? I would love to know :)
My kids are always happy when there is a raw veggie tray on the table, preferably with hummus, but ranch dressing will do, too. Also cheese & crackers. And fruit salad. Seriously, my kids love fruits & veggies. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy... I am planning to have plenty of fruit and a veggie platter :)
DeletePopcorn is yummy and healthy for kids.
ReplyDeleteCute!
ReplyDeleteI made a lot of popcorn, some sweet-salt (very subtle) and some with a bit of honey. They loved it!
ReplyDeleteBig bowl of fruit salad and vegetable sticks and some rice crackers.
Also (as Mili's birthday is in the winter) I made biscuits dough (the most simple recipe) and the kids made shapes and we baked it! made the house warm and smell delicious!
that was about that actually. Oh, and a chocolate birthday cake of course.
(but we had a small party - only 4 kids other than my Mili so it was relatively easy.
Thanks Galit... some great tips! Yep you have to have chocolate cake :)
DeleteYummy yummy que delícia, provei e gostei.
ReplyDeleteLove Fernanda from Raminhos de Pano.
Sorry I'm no help here. Our party food is keeping the local dentists in business!
ReplyDeleteha ha ha... I worried that some of the food I will be serving will do the same thing :)
